Polytechnic Training Centre (PTC)
Surgutneftegas devotes much attention to further development of its on-the-job training program which enables to accomplish 75% of the Company’s training and skills development plan annually. To this end, the in-house training centres regularly develop and enhance their methods, materials and tools.
Surgutneftegas has its own Polytechnic Training Centre Polytechnic Training Centre, which provides skills development and refresher programs for the Company’s employees. The Polytechnic Training Centre offers state-of-the-art training facilities, a range of unique industry-related educational courses, as well as up-dated training modules.
The Polytechnic Training Centre training base includes its centre in the city of Surgut and four departments: the Layntorsky, Feodorovsky and Nizhnesortymsky, (Surgutsky District, KhMAO – Yugra), and the Vitimsky Department (the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)), which cover 37% of the total number of employees trained in the Polytechnic Training Centre.
Every year, the Polytechnic Training Centre trains, re-trains, cross-trains and improves skills of 25% of the Company’s employees.
Providing academic and practical upgrading courses, the Polytechnic Training Centre runs over 300 occupational training programs for field employees and
50 modules and courses for executives and office personnel.
The Polytechnic Training Centre teaching staff includes 600 instructors, some among them are the senior experts of the Company’s business units, others are invited college or university tutors. Two hundred and thirty one instructors are certified to teach safety disciplines at the Company’s gas distribution and consumption facilities, boilers and hoisting equipment.
The Polytechnic Training Centre boasts its own training ground where theory meets practice. Second to none in the region, it is furnished with professional training simulators designed to maintain an advanced training level, help apply theoretical knowledge and practise new skills. The professional training is also conducted at workplaces in the Company’s business units.
Training Centre of Operating Division “SurgutASUneft”
The SurgutASUneft Training Centre is a newly established department that keeps pace with the modern global trends. The Centre staff master new programs, improve teaching techniques, and computerize training process to provide access to high-quality IT education.
The Training Centre is engaged in:
• PC users training;
• support of “Corporate Training System “SNGTraining” software;
• development and implementation of distance learning courses.
Today, the Centre has three classrooms equipped with 42 computers where it runs 60 courses ranging from Dos and Norton Commander to graphics editors, database operations, OS administration, professional SAP R/3 and MS Office courses.
Since 2004, the Training Centre has offered new training technology – distance learning – based on the software program “Corporate Training System “SNGTraining”. This software system helps enhance the quality of training, automate achievement tests in application software, operating systems, desktop applications, occupational and operational safety disciplines. SNGTraining continually develops new on-line tutorials. Since 2004, the Training Centre has prepared 70 distance learning courses and 48 tests.
