In recent years, the Company’s sales activities have been oriented towards maintaining its strong marketing position and gaining customer loyalty. To this end, Surgutneftegas consistently upgrades the existing service stations, constructs new stations and complexes, diversifies products and services, enhances service quality, and provides a secure and continuous fuel-supply network.
Successful marketing campaign amid higher domestic fuel demand helped increase sales turnover by 8.9% in 2007 compared to 2006, and by another 9.6% in 2008. In 2008, average daily sales per service station rose by 7.7%.
Following its capital renewal program, the Company’s marketing subsidiaries construct new stations and complexes with a wide range of services (motels, parking lots, coffee shops, car wash and car-care services, convenience stores), as well as upgrade the existing service stations, improving their exterior design and installing new up-to-date equipment.
During the last two years, Surgutneftegas upgraded 13 service stations and commissioned 13 new ones. Totally, at 2008 year-end, the Company operates 307 service stations, including 5 stations selling LPG.
Our marketing subsidiaries offer a number of additional services, such as cash or non-cash bank or fuel card payment options, discounts, and a variety of related goods and services. At 2008 year-end, plastic cards used to pay for fuel, goods and services, or earn bonus points accounted for 30% of all settlements.
In pursuit to provide high quality products, the Company’s marketing subsidiaries maintain in-house testing laboratories, which help ensure strict quality control across the entire product value chain.
