SURGUTNEFTEGAS SEEKS AFTER HIGHER INNOVATION POTENTIAL
Surgutneftegas regards a stronger innovation potential as a key factor in the Company’s higher efficiency and is developing technologies to tackle the current issues as well as to constitute a competitive advantage for the years to come.
In 2004, the Company’s R&D programs included 166 projects with 65 having been devised by the R&D Institute “SurgutNIPIneft”.
The R&D performed by the Institute together with the long-ranged programs let the Company save RUR 2.5 bn.
The technical upgrading of primary facilities allowed the Company to save further RUR 5.6 bn.
In 2004, the Company introduced 2,218 innovation proposals that brought about an economic effect of RUR 520 mn, executed and sent 45 applications to acquire the exclusive rights on the results of intellectual activity to the Rospatent’s Federal Institute of Industrial Property.
The Company was granted 40 patents and certifications, including 4 patents for invention, 7 atents for useful models, 29 computer programs and software official registration certifications, which pushed up the value of the Company’s intangible assets by RUR 60 mn.
The Company has obtained the Rospatent’s documents of title for and employs 105 objects of intellectual property with a book value RUR 329.4 mn.
