SURGUTNEFTEGAS SUMS UP ITS OPERATING RESULTS

Oil production of OJSC “Surgutneftegas” during the six months of 2005 reached
31 mn 215 thousand tons against 28 mn 863 thousand tons in 1H2004, which translates into an 8% increase.

Gas production grew by 3% to 7 bn 427 mn cubic meters (7 bn 198 mn cubic meters produced during the same period of 2004). The Company processed about 1 bn 986 mn cubic meters of gas.

The Company drilled 1 mn 571 thousand meters of rock including more than
93 thousand meters of exploratory drilling compared to 1 mn 502 thousand meters drilled in January – June 2004. The Company commissioned 464 new wells
(445 wells commissioned in the same period of the previous year).

These data include the Company’s operating results at the Talakanskoye field where we produced 81.4 thousand tons of oil and 376 thousand cubic meters of gas in 1H2005.
