SURGUTNEFTEGAS ANNOUNCES ITS OPERATING RESULTS FOR 8 MONTHS OF 2005

Oil production of OJSC “Surgutneftegas” during the eight months of 2005 reached 42 mn 168 thousand tons, which is 3 mn 185 thousand tons, or 8%, more as compared with the same period of the previous year. This indicator includes the operating results at the Talakanskoye field, where the company produced over 190 thousand tons of oil from January up to now.

As compared with the corresponding indicators of the same period of 2004, gas production grew by 1.5% and amounted to 9 bn 536 mn cubic meters. In the total gas production volume, the Talakanskoye field accounts for 900 thousand cubic meters. The company processed over 2 bn 421 mn cubic meters of gas.   

The company drilled 2 mn 127 thousand meters of rock including 113 thousand meters of exploratory drilling.   

The company commissioned 612 new wells from January to August, 2005 (in the same period of 2004, the company commissioned 592 wells).
