AO “Surgutneftegas” stepped five hundred kilometers westwards

In the course of ninth round of auction for usufruct bowels right, that took place in Khanty-Mansiisk last week, AO “Surgutneftegas” had won two lots in 15 put up for sale.
One of them is Rogozhnikovsky that is located in Sovetsky zone, 500 km westwards of Surgut, the other is Larinsky which borders upon the fields operated by AO “Surgutneftegas” in Surgutsky region.
The expected reserves of both areas total about 130 mn t of crude. Both areas are close enough to trunk pipelines and highways.
To comment on auction results AO “Surgutneftegas” main prospector Nikolai Medvedev claimed:
Among the offered areas, we had acquired the most prospective – Rogozhnikovsky. Not accidentally our one-off payment amount totaled less than the whole sum, being paid by the auction-winners. We paid nearly $40 mn.
Our company goes further in grafting charge potential by acquisition of the new prospective areas. We actively overstep the limits of our traditional activity zone in Surgut region. The exploration in Kondinsky, Khanty-Mansiisky and Beloyarsky regions has been started. Now we also will work in Octyabrsky region.
Moreover, we had handed an application for taking up in usufruct bowels right tenders in Nenets AO and Republic of Sakha. So our resource policy in the new century is to be based on the same principles that had occurred in the past: stock addition volumes should not be less that ones of output.
